TES Christmas Bazaar and Philippines Appeal

If you haven’t noticed from the lights springing up around Taipei, it’s almost Christmas time.  And next weekend on Saturday 30 November there will be a Taipei Christmas tradition — the annual Taipei European School Christmas Bazaar.

 TES Christmas Bazaar

My kids love the Christmas Bazaar.  There are heaps of things for them the little ones to play with, at TES’s superb modern facilities in Shihlin.  And there is a profusion of options for dining on international food at the many stalls.  But my favourite is the home-baked Christmas goodies made by the TES Mums.

This year, TES is also accepting donations for the Philippines (Typhoon Yolanda relief).  You can drop off several items required by the victims, including packaged ready-to-eat food items, pillows and bedding, baby items (nappies etc), new clothing, cooking utensils or money.  So dig deep if you can and help out.

TES is at 727 Wenlin Road, Shihlin.  There is limited parking, and the easiest way to get there is on the MRT, getting off at Zhishan station.  From there it is a short walk to TES.  You can also check for updates on the TES Facebook page.

About taiwanxifu

‘Taiwanxifu’ (pronounced ‘shee foo’) means ‘Taiwan daughter-in-law’ in Chinese and has been my nickname ever since I married my Taiwanese husband, Sam. I love sampling Taiwanese food, even local specialties such as stinky tofu, pigs blood cake and Taipei beef noodle soup with offal. But there are many other options on the menu. Promise!
